Tveir is a multifunctional shell chair. Shell and backrest are both made of finely moulded 3D wood veneer which applies ergonomic support to the body.
Peeld and cut veneers can crack by strong three-dimensional deformations. Therefore, to expand the boundaries of the deformation in wood, the company REHOLZ in Germany has developed a patented process that produces this kind of veneers. The big advantage is that now we can design seats, backrests and shells with stronger three-dimensional deformations for decorative wood and not just for upholstery quality as it was before. The increased 3D-deformability reduces the thickness of the material keeping the same shape stability and at the same time leading to weight saving.
At the same time the shell and the backrests have been conceived to be two independent components; they can vary in wood veneers, finishes, covers (with wool felt or thin leather) and can be available with or without armrests. The versatility is the strong point of this product which can be created and personalized according to everyone´s taste. This makes of Ames Tveir a chair suitable for offices, conference rooms, hotels and residential purposes, offering a high seating comfort for a long stay.

Steel tube diameter 50 x 3,0 mm with four fine welded outriggers on the base. Shell and backrest made of 3D wood veneer and optionally complemented with felt or leather covers. A swivel mechanism, which is available on request, allows a 360°-pivoting movement with return to front.
